Léo a travaillé en France, au Royaume-Uni, au Maroc et en Espagne. Elle s’intéresse à la question du rôle de l’art dans la possibilité de vivre ensemble en dehors des conditions où les héritages coloniaux (sociaux et environnementaux) sont omniprésents, principalement dans la région méditerranéenne. Elle développe également sa pratique artistique quand elle en ressent le besoin, au rythme de ses recherches, de ses rencontres et de ses voyages. Elle cultive durant ceux-ci une sensibilité et des connaissances riches, notamment linguistique.

Jean évolue dans le milieu artistique et marin. Elle s’interroge sur les possibilités d’interactions avec notre environnement par le prisme de l’habitat, qu’elle questionne dans de petits lieux de vie au milieu de grands espaces ; vans aménagés, voiliers, cabanons de pêcheur. Elle expérimente les conditions qui y favorise la cohabitation de singularités _milieux, choses et personnes, qu’elle rend visibles par le biais de projets artistiques. Elle s’intéresse désormais à la navigation à la voile, axant ces recherches à partir du rapport à l’eau, mettant en avant les questions de cohabitation au sein d’écosystème incertains.
La collaboration de Jean&Léo au sein de Référent Ciel en est un point clef, intrinsèquement lié à leurs histoires personnelles. Elles apportent aujourd’hui deux angles d’approches différents, à la visée commune : comprendre, à travers la pratique et l’expérimentation, comment mieux vivre ensemble – par le biais de l’art.

Léo has worked in France, the UK, Morocco and Spain. She is interested in the question of the role of art in the possibility of living together outside the conditions where colonial (social and environmental) legacies are pervasive, mainly in the Mediterranean region. She also develops her art practice when she feels the need, at the rhythm of her research, her meetings and her travels. During these, she cultivates a rich sensitivity and knowledge, particularly linguistics.

Jean’s background is in art and the sea. She investigates the possibilities of interaction with our environment through habitat, which she questions in small living spaces in the midst of wide-open spaces: converted vans, sailboats, fishermen’s sheds. She explore the conditions that foster the cohabitation of singularities _places, things and people, which she makes visible through artistic projects. She is now turning her attention to sailing, focusing her research from water, highlighting issues of cohabitation in uncertain ecosystems.
Jean&Léo’s collaboration within Référent Ciel is a key point, linked to their personal histories. Today they bring two different angles of approach, focused on questions that are nevertheless common and complementary: understand, through practice and experimentation, how to live better together – through art.
